Looking Forward to 2013!

How is YOUR 2013 starting out?

Mine’s been pretty busy…. we rolled back into town on the 1st, after a wonderful-yet-busy visit with family and friends. And things haven’t slowed any since then!

I have a few exciting announcements to share with you all. First, thanks to your generous support, the entire $500 has come in for my Book Project! I am in the process of signing a contract with my publisher, and am so excited about seeing this dream come to fruition! Praise God for His direction and provision!!

Second, starting this month I’m thrilled to be a contributing writer for two other blogs — I’ll be sharing book reviews at What’s On My Nightstand, and talking about God’s direction through my chronic illness at Finding Purpose in the Pain.

Also, thanks to your great responses on the Reader Survey, I’ve decided to start up a monthly-ish newsletter, where I can share more personal tidbits and give you a place to offer your feedback and opinions. It’s not ready yet, but just know that it’s forth-coming.

And I’ve tweaked a few things on the blog over the past week. If you haven’t checked out the home page lately, you should — and let me know what you think of the new look!

I’m excited about having some room to expand finally, and I think this new design is much more straightforward and clean-looking. {A special shout-out to Christian Mommy Blogger for giving away a Genesis theme last spring!} And as you can see in the new header, I chose Romans 12:12 as the theme verse for DogFur and Dandelions —

“…rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, constant in prayer.”

I think that pretty well sums up what I write about, don’t you?

Finally, here are a few posts you may have missed in the hustle-and-bustle of the holiday season:

Top Posts of 2012
This includes the top ten devotional posts, as well as the most popular book reviews, recipes, and series. It was interesting to see what made it on the list — the most surprising to me was my review of 7: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess.

Best of 2012

Goals for 2013
I may have shared this a little too early last month… but I usually start mulling over my annual goals around mid-October. I did something a little different this year, and picked goals in specific categories. I’m seeing these annual goals as smaller steps towards a bigger goal — and specific ways to continue in the right direction.

Introduction to TTB13
I’m planning to read through the entire Bible again in 2013, and would love to have you join me! Although I’ll be sharing the schedule for the plan I’m following, I’d love for any of you to join in the weekly discussions, no matter what plan you might be doing (or really, whatever you’re pondering from the Scriptures).

Gratitudes:

  • being with my whole family for Christmas
  • safety for all who traveled long distances for the holidays
  • getting to see 3 blogging friends {IRL} over the past 3 months
  • making new memories
  • Dunkin Donuts’ coffee
  • Friendly’s ice cream sundaes
  • getting to ride the “T” into Boston
  • huge cannolis at Mike’s Pastry
  • games that induce uncontrollable laughter…
  • God’s faithful direction & provision, as we acknowledge Him in all our ways

How about YOU??
Any fun memories from the past few weeks?
Anything special you’re thankful for today?
