Ugh. Another week of not posting. Sorry! Hopefully I can get back in the swing of thing soon. I’ve been fighting some sort of virus, kind of like a cold on steroids, plus not really sleeping. It’s been miserable. But I got some meds for it yesterday and today it feels like I’ve turned the corner and may be improving finally.
So I’ve managed to keep up with my Bible reading, but my brain has been so fuzzy I’m afraid I haven’t gotten much out of this week. Other than the reminder that, who God was for Israel and Moses, He still is for us today. But then maybe that’s just what I needed to remember this week.
The same God that parted the Red Sea watched over me and you today. The same God who cared how His chosen nation lived, enough to outline in detail the commands and feasts they were to follow, wants us to obey Him completely. The same God who led Israel by a pillar of smoke or fire, proving His continual presence with them, is continually with us today in every single moment. The same God who allowed Israel to face some of the plagues sent on Egypt, and persecution from unbelieving masters, before finally delivering them into freedom – He brings us through various trials and tribulations too, watching us and walking with us step by step, before eventually delivering us through those difficulties. He is faithful for us, just as He was for Israel. He loves us unconditionally, just as He loved them.
How can we doubt what time has so clearly shown? How can we ignore what God has so constantly proven about Himself?
What about you? What have you learned this week from your Bible reading and time with God? What has He reminded you about Himself? I would love to hear it!
