First of all, thank you very much to those of you who have been praying for me. I have started feeling a little better, though it will probably be a long slow process to get back to where I was. I’ve had a whole lot of blood work done this month, and thankfully nothing has shown up as being out of the ordinary (for me, at least). So I just keep resting, and praying, and doing what I can to eat and live healthfully.
Meanwhile, I wanted to mention something interesting I took away from my Bible reading this week – the contrast between the Old Testament sacrifices and the New Testament freedom from sacrifices. It was extremely helpful to go from the first chapters of Leviticus, which describe in detail the requirements for and frequencies of various blood and sacrifices, to the chapters in Hebrews describing how Jesus Christ met all the requirements for sacrifices, and how we no longer need those human high priests to offer anything for us, and how we can go to God directly through the name of Christ. What a reason to rejoice, especially this weekend as we celebrate His resurrection and triumph over death!
What have you learned this week from God’s Word? Please share!
