I am sort of a foodie. I like to dream about how unbelievable food will be in heaven, when we won’t need to eat but we’ll get to eat. Can you even imagine?
I think any food with tomatoes and melted cheese is absolutely perfect. Add basil, and it’s beyond perfect. Some favorites are Margherita pizza, meat lasagna, three cheese penne, Caprese salad, anything parmigiana… need I go on?
I am kind of obsessed with fresh fruits and veggies. In fact, when I go to the farmer’s market, I feel like a kid in the candy store. I want one of everything! (And I love the whole buying experience too.) It’s my grocery-budget weakness.
I am somewhat addicted to coffee. I need my 16 oz. every morning – but I rarely have any after that. And yes, I like it with cream and sugar (or truvia).
I refuse to drink Starbucks. Not for any boycotting reason – simply because I don’t like the taste of their coffee. And I grew up in Dunkin Donut’s territory, so I’m kind of a DD’s snob.
I am NOT addicted to chocolate like most females. I do enjoy a good square of Godiva dark chocolate… but it will take me 3-4 months to eat a whole bar of it.
I am a social ice-cream eater. I rarely eat it by myself. But if you ask me to join you, I probably will!
And of course, I do love to cook. But I rarely use cookbooks. If I follow a recipe exactly, it doesn’t come out well. If I do my own thing, it comes out great. So I do my own thing. (That also means my recipes on here are usually approximations. Because it’s really hard to write them down as I go.)
And I am the queen of randomness.
I ask my husband to tell me about black holes, quantum physics, the Fibonacci sequence, and theology when we’re lying in bed at night.
I can never decide whether I’m introverted or extroverted. On the Myers-Briggs tests, I consistently score just about halfway in between. When I’m alone, I want to stay alone. And when I’m with people, I want to stay with people.
I avoid making phone calls if at all possible. Partly from hearing trouble, partly because I’ve just never liked the phone. So if we’re friends, and I don’t call you – it’s not you, it’s me. 😉
I have never had a manicure. Or pedicure. And I’m okay with that.
I am not into clothes shopping or shoes. Hobby stores or farmer’s markets? Bring it on. The mall? Please, leave me home!
I do not own anything pink or purple in my wardrobe. I usually wear neutrals or autumn colors, and go for texture over patterns.
I have a college degree, but I would love to go back to school. Specifically seminary. I’m somewhat jealous of the classes my husband gets to take! 🙂
