Thought Provokers

Life is still busy over here, and time and energy are far too limited.

I am making some good progress with my book, but I’m also preparing for company and a few other big calendar items over the next few weeks. Unfortunately that means a few more weeks of irregular blogging… and I miss it.

I miss having the time to share God’s Word with you. I miss being able to encourage you. I miss writing. And I miss interacting with you all!

But hopefully another week or two, and I can get back into things again.  Until then, here are a few great articles from around the web:

Do You Know the Bones of Your Bible? by Lisa Notes
A good look at why we need the whole Bible in our hands, not just an electronic version. And why you should actually memorize the books of the Bible (as in, the list of 66 names). Share this with your kids, too.

Worn Out by Choosing Joy Daily
Another reason to have the whole Bible in-hand: a worn Bible portrays a beautiful journey. Like the saying goes, “a Bible that’s falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t.”

Is It Wrong for Christians to Cuss by Royal Daughter
A slightly different consideration of what it means to “take the name of the Lord your God in vain.” Hint: it can apply to more than just your speech.

When Good Deeds Are Not Good by Visionary Womanhood
In Tyanne’s own words: “Are there any gestures more highly regarded on this earth than those mentioned in First Corinthians 13:3?  I can come up with none.  So when I come upon a verse that tells me there is such a time when these acts mean nothing and will accomplish nothing, I know that the crux of such a verse is monumental.”

P.S. What are you thankful for today?

A few things on my gratitude-list are:
— warmer temperatures (spring is coming!)
— getting to celebrate my birthday with my husband (that doesn’t always happen, thanks to Uncle Sam)
— seeing my parents for a few days (just so happens they’re coming in on my birthday)
— lots of birthday coupons in my email!
— progress on my manuscript revision
— better energy
— fresh fruit & yogurt smoothies
— good sales at the grocery store!
— a new favorite phone app: 4 Pics, 1 Word
— getting to see my first Gilbert & Sullivan play — anyone ever seen The Mikado??
